New Orleans 2 Years Later
Posted On Saturday September 22, 2007 By Karen Gadbois
I have been taking photos of Hurricane/Flood damage for a year and a half. Everyday I see another story.
The entire Neighborhood just out of frame is overgrown and abandoned, this area is reverting to a natural state. Many people who lived here were elderly, or may have had flood insurance and homeowners but have been so beaten down by the process that they have not yet been able to rebuild.
Right now this is a Neighborhood fighting to not disappear, I am not sure if they will win or not.

Havana

Several years ago I went to Cuba with a university group for a conference. We spent 10 days in Havana. Shortly afterwards, the United States really started cracking down on people going to and from Cuba and the license we went under no longer exists. It was, without a doubt, one of the most interesting places I’ve ever gone to. But, it is changing and rapidly. And who knows what will happen when Fidel is gone. I’m sure Cuba will be around, but, the Cuba I saw in that moment probably won’t.
